Giving Machine Launch at Union Station

Ultimate KC Tailgate Party

Celebrate the spirit of Christmas through service, generosity, and community! Join us on Friday, November 20, at 7:00 p.m. at Union Station in Kansas City for the launch of the Kansas City Light the World Giving Machine, featuring the Ultimate KC Tailgate Party!

Hosted by Tammy Reid and Tavia Hunt, with special guests Jeremy and Kristin Andrus, Traeger CEO, this exciting kickoff will bring our community together for a meaningful cause, with a special Traeger grill giveaway!

The Giving Machine offers a unique way to share the love of Jesus Christ by giving to others. Instead of receiving a traditional vending machine treat, you can purchase meaningful items and services for individuals and families in need with a simple swipe of a card. One hundred percent of donations go directly to the participating nonprofit organizations.

This year, seven local organizations will be featured:

  • Lead to Read KC – Helping children strengthen literacy skills and build brighter futures.
  • Special Olympics – Kansas City Metro Area – Promoting inclusion and opportunity through sports.
  • Mother’s Refuge – Supporting homeless, pregnant, and parenting young women and their babies.
  • Seton Center – Providing essential services and resources to neighbors in need.
  • Saint Luke’s Crittenton Children’s Center – Supporting children and families through behavioral and mental health care.
  • Kansas City Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund – Bringing holiday joy and assistance to children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Science City at Union Station – Inspiring children through hands-on science and discovery.

The Giving Machine will remain at Union Station through January 1, 2027, providing families, friends, and visitors with opportunities to make a difference throughout the Christmas season.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we can follow His example by loving, lifting, and serving those around us. Make the Giving Machine part of your Christmas tradition and invite others to join you in lighting the world through generosity!
